To get a good understanding of the situation, it’s important to know that Ronaldo has two main agents: Jorge Mendes and Simon de Quieroz. The former runs Ronaldo’s affairs for him, while the latter is a consultant for Mendes; they represent a large number of top players in the world, and are instrumental in the transfer market. The Ronaldo-Juventus situation has been a tense one: after four years at the Juventus, Ronaldo returned to United and signed a new £300,000-a-week, four-year deal in the summer of 2018.

It’s been five years since Cristiano Ronaldo left Old Trafford for the Bernabeu in a world record £80m move after nine seasons with the Red Devils. After everything he’d achieved, it was hard to believe that Ronaldo would leave but that’s exactly what happened. The Madrid outfit also offered him bonuses of £30m each year, which he couldn’t turn down.

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA – The Jaguars said Wednesday morning that no players were dismissed on Tuesday due to their vaccination status, one day after head coach Urban Meyer indicated it was a possibility.

The statement said, “Availability is one of several criteria taken into consideration when making roster selections.” “On our roster, we have both vaccinated and unvaccinated players, and no player has been released because of their vaccination status. Decisions are made based on a player’s ability to assist the Jaguars win in the end. We educate our athletes about the vaccination and respect their individual choices. On game days, we aim to keep our players, staff, and family safe by following procedures relating to health and safety as well as competition.”

The Jaguars will be among the five teams with the most unvaccinated players, according to a league source informed ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Meyer stated Tuesday that a player’s vaccination status was one of the factors considered in reducing the roster from 80 to 53 players, but that it was not the sole one. In comparison to the procedures for vaccinated athletes, he highlighted the more rigorous COVID-19 protocols enforced on unvaccinated players who test positive or are classified as high-risk close contacts.

“Everyone was taken into account,” Meyer stated. “That was one of the [considerations, such as] production, so let’s get started, and is he vaccinated or not? Is it correct to claim that this was a deciding factor? It was definitely taken into account.”

There is a substantial variation in the procedures for vaccinated and unvaccinated athletes. If an unvaccinated athlete tests positive or is categorized as a high-risk close contact, he will miss a lot more time than if he is vaccinated.

Vaccinated players are checked weekly, and those who test positive are forced to sit out for 10 days or may return sooner if two negative PCR tests are received within 24 hours of each other. Vaccinated athletes cannot be classified as high-risk close contacts, but they must wear a mask within the facility and test daily for five days following exposure if they are exposed to someone who tests positive.

Unvaccinated players are checked daily, and those who test positive are required to sit out for 10 days before returning to play. Unvaccinated players with high-risk close contacts must be tested right away. Even if they test negative, they must still skip five days before returning on Day 6. If they test positive, they must undergo a 10-day quarantine followed by a three-day return-to-play period.

The NFL Players Association was not pleased with Meyer’s remarks. Meyer’s comments “have prompted us to start an inquiry,” according to George Atallah, the NFLPA’s associate executive director for external relations.

In a May interview on the club-sponsored One Bills Live radio program, Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane said he would remove an unvaccinated player to bring the squad closer to herd immunity “because it’d be a benefit” for a team to have a regular offseason experience.

The NFL talked with Beane regarding his remarks and emphasized that clubs are not allowed to remove players based on their vaccination status.

Meyer said that the club attempted to educate players about the vaccination and urged them to be vaccinated at the start of training camp, but that each player was free to make his own decision. Meyer did acknowledge, however, that the procedures in place for an unvaccinated player who tests positive or is deemed a high-risk close contact may have a major effect on the team’s chances of winning.
